WebCohort SecureSphere is a revolutionary comprehensive security solution for protecting the Enterprise Application Sphere from internal and external threats of known and unknown application-level attacks. Through a unique combination of anomaly correlation algorithms as well as the most comprehensive application level signature dictionaries, SecureSphere™ provides accurate prevention, full transparency and easy adaptation.

“Venrock is very excited to be investing in WebCohort,” said Ray Rothrock, Managing Partner of Venrock Associates. “The unique technology introduced by WebCohort is the only one we have seen that is capable of securing and protecting applications and databases not only from external hackers but most importantly also from malicious internal users within an organization.”

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to back Shlomo Kramer, Check Point’s co-founder, a second time,” said Steve Krausz, General Partner of USVP. “Organizations today are vulnerable to an ever growing number of sophisticated application-level attacks. Making sure key business processes of the organization are not shut down by the next wave of application attacks and worms is a revolutionary new capability of WebCohort’s technology.”

“I am very pleased to join WebCohort’s board of directors,” said Asheem Chandna. “I am excited to have the opportunity to help WebCohort make SecureSphere as essential to applications security, as today firewalls are to perimeter defense.” Chandna was with Check Point Software Technologies from April 1996 till December 2002 and was part of the core management team that helped grow Check Point to the worldwide leader in VPNs/firewalls and Internet security.

“The databases and applications comprising the Enterprise Application Sphere are the engine that keeps the organization running,” said Shlomo Kramer, President and CEO of WebCohort. “With the funds secured in this round and our team extended with savvy investors and market experts, we are well positioned to make SecureSphere the defining product in this new security category.”
