Cybersecurity Threat Research Content Manager

Imperva is looking for a Threat Research Content Manager to lead content creation based on data gathered by the Imperva Threat Research Team. Working alongside elite researchers, analysts, and data scientists, you will analyze and interpret data to author a variety of materials for consumption by a range of audiences across a number of scenarios (e.g., breaking news, incident response, customer escalation, trending cyber events, etc).

You will take complex, technical subject matters – web application threats, DDoS attacks, database attacks, tools, malware, threat actors, attack vectors – and write research reports, FAQs, and blog posts with actionable insights for customers, partners, and other external audiences, as well as sales and support. 

This role reports to the Head of Threat Research and will collaborate closely with stakeholders in Marketing and the business.

Responsibilities And Duties:

  • Leverage internal data, business intelligence and trends to develop long- and short-form content, including speaking abstracts, threat research reports, blog posts, and KB articles; Monitor, identify and provide written responses to security events and emerging cyber threats
  • Respond to short-notice analytic requests for information on threats, vulnerabilities, and consequences from internal business partners for external stakeholders (e.g., customers)
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team made up of Product Marketing, PR, and Threat Research
  • Understand competitive landscape of competitors and how they position themselves in market
  • Provide summary and analysis of threat research produced by other research teams as it publishes as a blog post, report and recommend action, if applicable 
  • Make ongoing recommendations to ensure processes improve and creation of materials and templates are completed in the most effective and efficient manner


  • Technical background and in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity
  • 5 + years in threat analysis or security research 
  • Proven storytelling and writing skills; command of grammar, sentence syntax, and formatting
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with peers, leaders, business partners and incident response teams
  • Experience presenting to sales teams, customers, and other external groups
  • A self-starter with a high degree of initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound judgment, and strong analytical skills to connect and synthesize complex, disparate pieces of information from various data sources in order to form observations, conclusions and CTAs  
  • Experience monitoring threat activity, identifying anomalous activity, and disseminating information to internal and external stakeholders via the appropriate platform (e.g., blog post, FAQ, one-pager)  
  • Nice to have: knowledge of policy, current events, and issues impacting critical infrastructure, FSI, HC, banking, telecommunications, and retail
