We're looking for SOC Team Lead – Application Security to join our team.
We work in a hybrid model from the office (Rehovot) and home.  The Imperva Cloud WAF security operations center is a global team dedicated to providing first responses to customer security incidents, and is focused on the operational aspect of web-application security: analyzing the threat, suggesting immediate methods of remediation and mitigation, and actively working to block attacks in real-time.

The scope of activity ranges throughout the layer 7 domain: Encompassing DoS & DDoS attacks, Brute-Force attacks, Scraping and filtering of unwanted traffic, and also extending into initial analysis and mitigation of application attack vectors, such as XSS, SQLi and Remote code execution.

The team works closely with the first tier support teams, acting as a focal point for security related events and incidents. 


The SOC Team Lead – Application Security

As team lead you will be expected to posses a good working knowledge and experience of web-application security and current threat landscape, together with an in-depth familiarity of Imperva cloud WAF security policies and processes.

You will also be expected to maintain proficiency in field related tools and methodologies, and encouraged to expand your knowledge across all security related matters.

Job Requirements:

-       At least 5 years of hands-on experience in penetration testing or application security

-       Working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, SSL

-       Working knowledge of the OWASP top 10

-       Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English

-       Advantage for those with experience in scripting languages: python, bash

-       Willingness to extend work hours when needed to communicate with the global team members

-       Advantage for those with technical security qualifications such as OSCP

To succeed in this position, the team expert will need in-depth technical knowledge of Web Applications and Networking and a great understanding of the cyber security landscape in these domains. But the technical know-how is not enough. This is a customer facing role that requires the team lead to have a spotless customer-facing manner and great communication skills, in order to lead escalations with customers and internal teams. 


  • Serve as trusted advisor and as a point of escalation for both the customer and other Imperva team members in matters that relate to service delivery and security incidents
  • Ability to investigate highly complex and diverse issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of a variety of factors
  • Support the team and drive excellence and professionalism through the day to day tasks and projects
  • Ensure engineering teams are addressing and solving issues in a timely manner to meet defined SLA’s
  • Work with the support and engineering teams to continually evaluate and enhance proactive monitoring and support initiatives
  • Inspire respect, trust, and motivate others to perform well and ensure adherence to established standards and procedures
  • Promote customer focus, monitoring customer satisfaction
  • Multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Establish positive working relationships and lead clients and team members in a consultative manner
