Content Marketing Manager

As a Content Marketing Manager, you will be an integral addition to the product marketing team, playing a central role in our marketing outreach. To be successful, you will need exquisite writing and communication skills as well as the ability to collaborate with multiple global teams. The role involves content writing and editing, management of an editorial calendar, sourcing ideas for new articles and assets and coordinating with internal marketing team members, company-wide contributors, contractors, and freelancers. The end goal is to convey Imperva’s value within our marketing collateral, driving thought-leadership, customer acquisition, and ongoing customer success. This person should be an energetic and articulate individual with significant writing and editing experience. The ideal candidate is innately curious and can simplify complex ideas for broader consumption.

What you'll do:

 Create breakthrough market-facing assets

  • Incorporate messaging from product marketing owners into new content you will write to support upsells and new logo acquisition.
  • Write blogs, whitepapers, e-books, guides, and case studies to demonstrate product value to customers.
  • Plan and manage the production of videos and infographics used to cement Imperva’s thought-leadership position, attract customers and support and accelerate the buyer's journey.
  • Create compelling content that attracts readers, encourages them to subscribe/follow/engage with Imperva, and ultimately builds trust in us as experts in the cybersecurity field.
  • Revise and edit content from company-wide contributors, contractors, and freelancers to support marketing goals and to drive behavioral metrics and subsequently measure content effectiveness.
  • Source ideas for new articles and assets.
  • Create compelling content for customer communications, including announcement of new releases, features, and functionality benefiting our customers.
  • Ensure all content is consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, point of purchase, mobile, video, print and in-person.
  • Be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style to ensure consistency of content with professional quality standards, brand and tone.
  • Integrate content activities into larger PR efforts and traditional and digital marketing
  • Identify the content needed to support and extend marketing initiatives and determine which assets will work to fill gaps in the customer journey.
  • Establish workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content from our content inventory.


    • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, public relations, business management, marketing, communications or equivalent.
    • 5+ years writing experience in content marketing, product marketing, customer communications, or marketing communications, for a technical, B2B SaaS product and 3+ years of editing experience.
    • Cybersecurity experience preferred.
    • Experience with Marketo or other marketing automation platforms.
    • Able to coordinate across many teams in different time zones to iterate and deliver on initiatives with strict timelines.
    • Strong attention to detail, with a proven ability to be self-directed, to work with minimal supervision, and to prioritize workloads.
    • Fast learner with outstanding English communication skills and the ability to explain and translate technical concepts into simple and intuitive communications.
    • Comfortable working in an environment of steady production of content to support our GTM campaigns that is either self-produced or requires review/finalizing for others.
    • Be able to provide examples of your work, which may include blogs, release notes, newsletters, videos, or even integration and migration guides.
    • Strong technical writing skills with a diverse portfolio of published work Understanding of editorial and PR processes.
    • Audience development through the use of content to influence the buyer’s journey.
    • Entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to act effectively with only high-level direction is essential.
    • Experience working in global teams a plus.
    • Experience conceiving infographics and writing video or audio scripts.
