Imperva is seeking a Senior Development Manager to lead a product development team of super talented and experienced developers in Vancouver, Canada.

Imperva develops cybersecurity products for the largest companies around the globe. We store and collect huge amounts of security-related data from in-house systems and various cloud platforms, and analyze it using a variety of tools ranging from Fast Fourier Transforms to Machine Learning algorithms.

The team is responsible for building Imperva’s next generation, cloud native data security fabric products that protect customers’ data irrespective of where they are deployed including on-prem, hybrid, and PaaS models. We are on a mission to help organizations balance the need to adopt modern architecture and rapid development to meet business needs and the security required to protect sensitive data and critical functions

You will be the driving force behind our cutting-edge products. You will serve as a key member of the Product Development management team and collaborate with other engineering leaders and product managers. You will work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

As a Senior Development Manager, you are the ideal team player, adept at managing relationships, collaborating, and influencing across a variety of organizational functions.

You should be prepared to make decisions with imperfect information, know how to lead without authority, and be comfortable managing chaos, ambiguity, and complexity. You should possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy that includes a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality.

We are looking for: a hands-on, methodical, analytical, and original thinker, with a passion for building staggering products that go beyond our customers’ expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the product development team consisting of highly professional engineers and provide high-level guidance and support to promote an innovative and challenging work environment that can execute both independently and collaboratively to deliver results
  • Work to scope and plan key deliverables with business stakeholders and development teams to ensure successful deliver
  • Optimize the organizational structure for fast and reliable deliveries and to create a collaborative culture and environment between the Vancouver office and the other global offices of Imperva, mainly the one based in Tel Aviv
  • Own the technical output of the team. Ensure high technical standards by implementing processes (technical design, code reviews, testing, and rollout) and strengthening department culture (hacker mentality, agility, and engineering excellence). Review and drive long term technical direction

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development
  • 6+ years of experience leading engineering teams
  • Sc or M.Sc in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Deep domain knowledge and hands-on capabilities in at least one of the following areas: cloud environments, databases, networking, application/network/data, Infrastructure, security, SaaS
  • Passionate about understanding, learning, and evaluating new technologies
  • Excellent leadership, collaborative management practices, communication and interpersonal skills; strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Foster team culture and practice of mentorship and collaboration
  • Demonstrated success with meeting the needs of a wide range of employees while driving team performance, monitoring results and appropriately allocating resources
  • Strong leadership skills, leading by example, driving employee commitment through actions, and empowering employees to reach their full potential
  • Eager to collaborate with the team to help determine and implement the values, vision and strategic goals (long and short term) of the company and lead change initiatives
  • Excellent research capabilities backed by a robust technical decision-making process
  • Desire to solve customer problems with innovation
  • Capability to adapt to ever-changing environment to guide the organization towards optimal business outcome given time and resource restrictions
  • Develop and execute the product short and long term roadmap

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in the development of cloud-native solutions and good understanding of the different public cloud services
  • Experience with Cloud Native infrastructure and services
  • Domain expertise in cybersecurity, DevOps, enterprise application environments
  • Experience with modern service infrastructure such as Kubernetes/Istio microservice architecture
