New Imperva Office & Customer Experience Centre Aims to Meet the Needs of Customers In Singapore & Across Asia Pacific and Japan

Since 2009, Imperva has proudly maintained offices in various countries across the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. As the company experiences momentum in this region, we continue to invest in expanding our presence to better support our valued customers, wherever they’re located in APJ.

This month, we are excited to open a larger office space in Singapore, the tenth Imperva office, and our new regional headquarters for the APJ region. This new, state-of-the-art workspace joins our roster of regional offices across Australia, China, India, Japan, and Taiwan.

As part of this new space, we are pleased to open the company’s first Customer Experience Centre in APJ. Consisting of a Network and Security Operations Centre (NOC, SOC), this will be a place where customers can meet with our experts, see our threat intelligence data in real-time, and have the opportunity to use Imperva products hands-on.

Customers Benefit from a NOC and SOC in APJ

Singapore is a regional business hub for countless international companies, making the country a prime target for cyberattacks. When I meet and talk with customers across the region, I consistently hear that protecting critical assets from API abuse, automated fraud, DDoS attacks, and business logic attacks is a growing challenge. Singaporean regulations and guidelines for IT infrastructure and protecting data are among the most rigorous in the world.

For these reasons, we have invested in establishing a regional NOC and SOC to help our customers navigate these complex business risks. The NOC monitors and maintains the network and IT infrastructure, ensuring that everything is running smoothly. If issues arise, they can be detected and resolved quickly to minimize downtime. Long-term, this will help Imperva deliver consistent services with better uptime. The SOC is responsible for monitoring systems for security threats and vulnerabilities. With a SOC based in the region, we can maintain and bolster the integrity and availability of our security services.

I believe our Singapore-based customers will find value from the local presence of a NOC and SOC in a number of ways:

  • Given that Singapore is an open economy and major centre for trade, finance, and logistics, we can help our customers monitor and respond quickly to threats that have the potential to impact the regional and global economy.
  • Imperva can optimise service levels and meet the highest standards of security because dedicated resources will be based in APJ.

Aside from the NOC and SOC, Imperva continues to invest in APJ with a strategy of adding a point of presence (PoP) in more locations throughout the region. This strategy will ensure that our customers in the region have the right level of protection, performance, and availability while satisfying data sovereignty requirements. Today, we have 15 PoPs in the APJ region, with plans to open more in the future.

Developing Future Cybersecurity Talent in APJ

The opening of our new Singapore office is a great opportunity for us to connect and support our customers and partners in the region. At the same time, it also gives us the ability to identify and nurture current and future talent. We believe this is essential for addressing the cyber skills gap globally that continues to grow and limit our collective ability to combat cybercrime.

We have partnered with National University of Singapore to create an internship program that gives students valuable hands-on experience while receiving mentorship from our team of technical experts. With the establishment of the Customer Experience Centre, we are excited to be able to give our future interns the opportunity to learn in a state-of-the-art environment alongside our customers.

At the end of the internship program, students will have a deeper understanding of application and data security, having been exposed to the latest cybersecurity technologies and innovations.

Driving the Next Stage of Growth for APJ and Imperva

Asia Pacific and Japan is one of the most exciting regions in the world because many nations are prioritizing investment in connected Smart Cities using cutting-edge technologies. With such a high velocity of innovation, securing all of the applications, APIs, and data stores that power these digital economies is a critical priority.

I believe Imperva is well-positioned to address customers’ needs in APJ with our unmatched end-to-end application and data security offering that protects critical apps, APIs, and data, anywhere, at scale, and with the highest ROI. It is one of the reasons why Imperva is experiencing rapid growth in emerging economies and across APJ, in comparison to other high-performing companies.

With the opening of our office in Singapore, and the establishment of the Customer Excellence Centre, I am excited to host our customers and partners to show them the value of our products and to help them solve their complex security needs.
